Eat your heart out - Breakheart Reservation

Breakheart Reservation is just 15 minutes outside of the city, although you will feel like you are in the Berkshires. With over a dozen hiking trails, a huge open lake for swimming, rock climbing, fishing, biking, and more, it would be easy to spend an entire weekend on the grounds!

HINT: Don't forget to bring a picnic and grab your furry friend, Breakheart Reservation is Pet Friendly!

Secret Boston and Lisa Johnson Fitness!

If you have yet to sign up, you should join Secret Boston Facebook group. They have killer fans and a very active page. Secret Boston encourages their fans to promote their businesses, share their favorite spots in the city, and even asks daily questions like where are you eating lunch today? My favorite part of the group is their weekly promo contests! This is where I won 3 private Modern Pilates sessions with Lisa Johnson Fitness!

Lisa Johnson is a fitness guru. Her knowledge in the world of health and wellness is fascinating. She shares all of her insights on her fab website. The site includes recipes, tips and workouts for a healthy, happy and fit lifestyle. I enjoyed spending time at her award winning Modern Pilates studio last week. I am in the best shape of my life, and her instructor still pushed me past my limit. It was a great experience with visible results and did I mention FUN?

HINT: Mention Boston Weekends Blog and receive 3 private 60 minute sessions for $99.00 at any of their 3 studios!

The Power of Prana! - Yoga studios and Vegan Cafe

Taylor and Philippe, a husband and wife team started Prana Power Yoga over eight years ago. In their personal lives they had obtained numerous degrees from ivy-league schools, had been promoted to the top of their corporate careers, however never felt the satisfaction that is supposed to come along with the achievement of the “American Dream.”

Both feeling connected to yoga, they finally decided to turn their passions into their careers. Prana Power Yoga has now reached the title of one of the Top 25 yoga studios in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine. Prana Vegan Cafe recently opened in Newton and already has a popular following. A favorite on the menu: Super-mom's super-charger -Young coconut water, caco powder, cacao nibs, coconut butter, soaked cashews, agave, and a pinch of Himalayan crystal salt. $8.75

Every aspect of Prana, from the instructors they hire, to the menu at the café, is an obvious reason as to why Prana holds the reputation that it does today.

HINT: New classes and events are announced every week including: Prana after dark, heat yoga, yoga with a live dj, raw food prep courses, and the Prana cleanse. NAMASTE!
