A unique vintage shopping experience – The Buffalo Exchange

The nationally known Buffalo Exchange recently opened its doors in Davis Square. It is truly a unique experience for vintage shopping in Boston. Unlike other popular vintage shops, The Buffalo Exchange will review and buy your items right then and there, no appointment necessary. True hidden gems arrive at this store each week. I just purchased a Anna Sui dress from the 2008 spring collection at over 80% off!

HINT: Donate your old furs to Coats for Cubs and give them back to the animals! All furs donated, including trims and accessories are sent to wildlife rehabilitators, who use the furs to warm and comfort orphaned and injured wildlife. More than 200 rehabilitators from across the United States and Canada now participate in this program.

La Aroma Café – Newbury Street & West Newton

When I saw that my favorite Boston coffee shop and bakery was opening a location in West Newton, I was ecstatic! The café perfects everything from their lattes to their stuffed croissants. On the second floor you will find the sister company of the café, Timeless Teas. They sell over 50 varieties and flavors of teas from all over the world. The company has been passed down through three generations of the Salie family. Both locations have cozy seating that will win you over for your next business meeting spot!

HINT: Try the peppermint tea over ice, it is so refreshing and the perfect amount of caffeine for that afternoon fix without going overboard!

Boston: 85 Newbury Street (btw. Berkeley & Clarendon Streets)
Newton: 15 Spencer Street (directly behind the Newton police station)

Rooftop Brunch at the Taj – Does it get any better than this?

Word on the street is that the Taj rooftop will be opening its doors to the public for brunch this spring! With views of the Boston Garden and Newbury Street, raw bar, sushi bar, Indian cuisine, prime rib carving station and specialty eggs benedict made to order in one place topped with a champagne toast, I ask you; does it get any better than this?

HINT: Call now to make reservations for this unique Boston brunch experience, I can assure you that it won't be available for long!

Marty's Liquor and Deli - A Gourmet Deli fit for a Man

Located in Newton, just five minutes off the Pike there stands a gourmet deli and liquor store that sells out of it's famous chili before noon on a rainy day. Today, I was sadly reminded of that fact.

Marty's liquors and gourmet deli holds almost any liquor, foreign beer or champagne label that you are looking for. If they don't have it? Not a problem...the oh so experienced staff will not only order any liquor of your choice but they will also call you when it arrives!

The deli perfects not only it's chili, but it's sandwiches as well. Today's special: Braised pot roast sandwich.

HINT: Try the Jekel Chardonnay, they just got it in and it is FABULOUS and under $20.00!

Tapas at Dali - Sexy, Yummy, and Unforgettable

Dali is not your average restaurant. The menu includes Tapas such as, Alcachofas Rellenas: Mushroom-stuffed Artichokes and Caldereta Genoveva: Braised Lamb w/Almonds & Mint Essence, not to mention the sparkling white wine Spanish communal drinking vessel. Is your mouth watering yet? If the menu isn't enough to get you there, the warm ambiance, kind staff and great service may be. Trust us, you won't be disappointed!

HINT: Great place for a romantic date or fun group dinner! If it's your birthday, they will make you kiss the frog. My sister Erika was forced to do so on her 25th!

Dance the night away - Epic Saturdays!

Craving a girls night out? Craving a boys night out? Epic Saturdays throws one of the best dance parties in the city. However ruled by gay boys and painted go-go dancers, all are welcome at this venue!

HINT: Grab a drink at House of Blues (Foundation Room) beforehand. There is usually a live band playing a 8p-10p show and then hit Epic Saturdays next door before 11pm for a free ticket! Entrance after 11pm is $15.00 and dance floor is usually packed by midnight. Have fun!

WELCOME!

Welcome to Boston Weekends! Yeah, we are a small city, but there are oh so many Hidden Gems that don't get the credit they deserve! In this blog, I intend to share a few of my own and would love to hear yours as well. ENJOY!
